Apple Home Care provides compassionate, non-medical in-home care across Philadelphia — helping seniors and adults stay safe, independent, and comfortable in the homes they love. Our screened, local caregivers handle the everyday support that makes staying home possible, from bathing and meals to companionship and transportation.
We’re a Pennsylvania-based agency, and care can often start within 24 to 48 hours of a free in-home assessment. Call 215-730-1020 any time for a no-obligation conversation.
In-Home Care Services in Philadelphia
Every plan is customized to your loved one’s needs and schedule. Our four core services can be used on their own or combined:
- Personal care — bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility, meal prep, and medication reminders.
- Companion care — conversation, hobbies, errands, grocery runs, and transportation to appointments.
- Respite care — short-term relief so family caregivers can rest and recharge.
- Specialized care — extra support for dementia, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and post-surgery recovery.
Philadelphia Neighborhoods We Serve
We provide care throughout the city, including:
- Center City and Rittenhouse Square
- West Philadelphia and University City
- Southwest Philadelphia and Cobbs Creek
- And surrounding neighborhoods across the city
Just outside the city, we also serve Delaware County — including Upper Darby, Drexel Hill, Havertown, and Lansdowne — and parts of Montgomery County.
Paying for Home Care in Philadelphia
Families pay for in-home care in several ways, and we’ll help you understand which fits:
- Medicaid (Community HealthChoices). We’re in-network with Keystone First and PA Health & Wellness. If your loved one is approved, their authorized hours are covered at no out-of-pocket cost.
- Not enrolled yet? See our guide to the CHC Medicaid Waiver — the application takes roughly two months, and we can bridge with private pay in the meantime.
- Private pay, long-term care insurance, and VA benefits. See our cost guide for what affects pricing and how to plan.
How to Get Started
- Free consultation. We talk through your loved one’s needs, preferences, and goals — by phone or in your home, with no pressure.
- Custom care plan. We build a plan that matches exactly what your family needs.
- Caregiver matching. We choose a caregiver who fits your loved one’s personality and schedule. Every caregiver passes FBI and state background checks, health screening, reference checks, and an in-person interview.
- Ongoing care and support. Care often begins within 24 to 48 hours, and we stay in touch and adjust the plan as needs change.
Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between medical and non-medical home care?
Non-medical home care, like ours, is help with daily living — bathing, dressing, meals, companionship, transportation, and supervision. Medical home health is skilled nursing or therapy ordered by a doctor. We focus on the daily-life support that helps your loved one stay safely at home, and we coordinate with home health teams when both are involved.
How quickly can care start in Philadelphia?
For private pay families, care can usually begin within 24 to 48 hours of your free assessment. If you’re using Community HealthChoices and already have authorized hours, we can start as soon as your plan clears us.
Do you accept Medicaid insurance?
Yes. Apple Home Care is in-network with Keystone First Community HealthChoices and PA Health & Wellness. We are not currently in-network with UPMC Community HealthChoices.
What if my loved one has dementia?
Our specialized care supports dementia, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s with tailored routines, gentle memory support, and caregivers experienced in keeping loved ones safe and calm at home.
